Koreans from Samsung were taken by surprise once with the success of the Note series since October 2011 when the first version was released and now reached the second generation. A device dedicated to engineers and designers, Galaxy Note announces a new trend in the mobile devices equipped with pen which provides a pleasant working experience. Galaxy Note 2 was released in August 2012 and was sold in over 3 million units which is a big number even for a company like Samsung.
Two new devices was listed from DLNA Alliance with the code names GT-N5100 and GT-N5110. GT-N is the prefix for Note devices, an extension that announcing at least one new device in Note range.
From Note range are part two products: a smartphone and a tablet. The smartphone comes with a screen diagonal of 5.5-inch, while the tablet has a 10.1-inch screen. Both devices are at opposite poles in terms of size. A smaller version than tablet would bring a benefit those who have a smartphone and want a tablet, or those who have a tablet and would like a smartphone. Galaxy Note with a 7-inch screen comes to solve this problem.
Also a tablet with 7-inch screen would compete directly with new Apple iPad Mini device and also with Nexus 7 from Google.
As the smartphone and tablet , Samsung will keep the same trend of the operating system – Android Ice Cream Sandwich. The device is also Wi-Fi certified and dual-band 802.11a/b/g/n and Wi-Fi Direct support.
